Day 2 of Tour (Day 4 of Honeymoon)

The GREAT WALL! It was raining the whole time we were in Beijing, so of course it was raining by the time we made our 3 hour trek to the Great Wall. Tony and I hadn't packed anything warm, so we bought some classy "I climbed the Great Wall" souvenier sweat shirts (60RMB = US$ 7.5).

The climb was really steep, and if it wasn't for the crowds of tourists, I would have been so scared of falling backwards. I had been to the same part of the Wall two years ago, and they have really made it more "touristy." There are no more loose bricks, they've installed handrails, and there aren't camels off to the side to take pictures with. Also, the parking lot is paved. They are doing so much to get ready for the Olympics! Where's Roslyne?
We also went to see the one of the Ming Tombs, which was kind of pointless because there is not much to see. Since he was not a good Emperor and did not accomplish anything, his memorial is blank. So, uh, we got to see the view of other, more successful emperor's tombs, many miles away.

In the museum portion of the Ming Tombs they sold emperor playing cards. They are like flashcards that you can use to play poker! Way to capitalize on centuries of history! Maybe I should have bought some.
For dinner we had Peking Duck! Yum!
